Compost Cookies

Students are able to create their favorite cookies out of paper plates. Students learn about what can and cannot be composted from their little friend Kyle the red wiggler worm. Students are read the book Kyle in His Compost Pile by Julie Lehman.
Create a model of your favorite cookie, cut a bite out and "toss" it into a compost pile. Make your own worm rod puppet to munch it up. Discover what is compostable, the importance of bugs in our world, and how things biodegrade in a fun and imaginative way.
Audiences: Grades K – 2nd
Capacity: 25 student participants and their parent.
Register: Advanced registration is required. Please register each child who will be participating in the workshop and each adult who will attend.
