Michelle Meade

 

Michelle Meade is an Author/Illustrator with a MFA in Writing and Illustrating Children’s Literature from Hollins University and a Certification in Art Instruction. She also holds a BFA in Theatre Arts, having studied at the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute, Parson’s School of Design, and with Marcel Marceau at the Warsaw Mimedance Theatre. Michelle has had the privilege of studying under renowned authors and illustrators that include Peter H. Reynolds, Emma Walton Hamilton, Judy Schachner, Ashley Wolfe, and Elizabeth Delumba. During her theater career, she worked with industry icons such as Jim Henson and John Denver, performing in commercials, musicals, and as a Muppet. After completing the Teaching Artist Training Program at the Kennedy Center, Michelle led art workshops in schools (elementary through college), followed by co-founding a youth theater, where she wrote and adapted children’s stories into plays for over a decade.
