Lindsay Brunk

Lindsay Brunk began her life with ballet at age 3, and continued through her upbringing, studying at the Kansas City Ballet while also competing with a local studio. Post high-school, she began her college studies in Rambouillet, France before transferring back stateside to finish her degree in anthropology and linguistics at Missouri State.

Lindsay returned to Kansas City and took a job teaching ballet near her hometown of Parkville, Missouri in 2011. After several years of forming her teaching techniques, she branched out to other Kansas City studios to teach. In 2015, she completed choreography for her first full student ballet, and continued each year with a unique student-centered story.  Lindsay joined KCYA in the fall of 2021.

A certified Montessori teacher, she loves connecting dance to the academic world, and lives for the moments when students make sincere connections with the art of dance. Her favorite type of dance to teach is ballet, and her favorite to learn is Lindy Hop.

When Lindsay is not in the studio, she can be found volunteering at the American Legion in Parkville, where she runs the weekly trivia night. An avid cook, learner, and conservationist, she enjoys gardening and birdwatching. Her favorite dinosaur is the parasaurolophus.
