Summer Classes 2020
All Virtual Summer: June 1 - August 1
Summer classes meet once a week for 8 weeks: June 1st - August 1st.
No classes June 29 - July 4th due to the Holiday.
MUSIC - DANCE - THEATRE
- All Summer Classes will be held on the Zoom application.
- Virtual Summer Classes will be limited to 10 students.
- Students will need internet access, an electronic devise (phone, computer, or tablet), and a space move around.

Summer Music Classes
Classes meet once a week for 8 weeks...beginning the week of June 1st.
No classes June 29 - July 4th due to the 4th of July Holiday.
Garage Bands
Play, collaborate, and create with others in a 'garage' rock band format. Every member will have the chance to try out the various instruments and roles: electric guitar, keyboard, and vocals. Through experimentation and practice, the group will create its own unique sound. STUDENTS MUST ALREADY HAVE SOME EXPERIENCE WITH THE GUITAR, BASS, KEYBOARD or DRUMS. Students must speak with Teaching Artist Chris Hudson prior to the first class.
Already in a band? Want to create a band with a group of friends? Additional times are available for pre-formed groups - work with Chris Hudson to take your band's sound to the next level.

Summer Dance Classes
Dance Classes will meet once a week (unless otherwise noted) for 8 weeks. Classes begin on June 1st.
No classes June 29-July 4, due to the 4th of July Holiday.
Pre-Ballet Class
Students will learn basic ballet technique and practice to improve coordination skills and flexibility in this lively and positive class. Dancers are taught to march, skip, gallop, and soar through the air with pointed toes and straight knees preparing them for Ballet I.

Ballet I & II
Students will concentrate on ballet technique, correct French terminology and flexibility. Classes are structured to teach ballet movements that improve technique but also move and travel across the floor allowing for an energetic and lively class. *Students in Ballet II or III must have Miss Kim's approval.

Ballet III - VI
Ballet III, IV, V and VI classes will greatly improve technique, strength, flexibility, musicality, grace and artistry. Ballet class combinations are created to build a greater knowledge base of terminology while also increasing the dancer's ability to execute several steps together in one combination. Classes will meet two times per week for Ballet IV and 3 times per week for Ballet V and VI.

Hip Hop I, II, III
These classes teach rhythm, coordination, and age-appropriate hip hop choreography with no suggestive music/movements. Hip Hop is upbeat and great for kids who like to move! No experience necessary for Hip Hop I. Hip Hop II and III students must have completed Hip Hop I or have instructors approval.

Learn the fundamentals of both Hip Hop and Jazz styles. Classes will encourage students to dance outside of the box and to incorporate their own personality in each movement.

Summer Theatre Classes
Directing for Advanced Actors
In this fun and interactive class students will work together to direct a script from beginning to end. Each student will participate in the script selection process, complete mock auditions from the other side of the table, and discover directing techniques, while learning about all of the responsibilities a director carries. This class is best suited for students interested in theatre who have had at least one previous acting class.
