A Dance Workshop for Grades 3-8

Teaching Artist: Vanessa and Rodney Gibbs

Rodney and Vanessa Gibbs will teach students concepts and techniques of West African dance from Mali and Senegal. Students will learn dances that honor kings and queens, celebrate weddings, and begin harvests. 

Requirements: Large, open space; wood floor preferred. Teachers must be present at all times during workshops.

Creative Discipline: Dance, Music

Program Length:  50 minutes

Availability: Year-round

Location: At Your School

Fees: $300 single/$500 double ($250 per workshop for 2 or more on the same day)

  • The break between workshops must not exceed 90 minutes to receive the reduced rate
