Summer Camps for Wee People

All Summer Camps meet Monday - Friday. All camps conclude with a 'sharing' for family and friends. Camp fees include am or pm snack, camp photo. Enroll in both the AM camp and the PM camp for a full day of fun and savings.  Multi-Camp (or kid) Discount: enroll in 2 or more weeks of camp and save! More camps equal more savings.  

All Summer Camps will be held at KCYA at 3732 Main Street, KC MO 64111.


 

Ballet a Day Camp

During our Ballet-A-Day camp, students will learn about the plot, main characters, and music for a well-known classical ballet. Each day of camp includes a storybook version of the ballet, a full pre-ballet/movement dance class, a craft related to the ballet of the day.  During the week of July 5th, this camp may be combined with Clowning Around for a full day of fun!

Broadway Bound

Be a shining star. Students will sing, dance and act their way through music and scenes from popular Broadway shows. This high energy camp takes a look at what it takes to be in a musical production. The week will culminate in a sharing for family and friends. This half-day camp may be combined with PLAYtime PLAYwrights to create a full day of fun!

Clowning Around

It's a three-ring circus! Students will create clown characters from their own imagination. This camp offers a unique and challenging opportunity to delve into the circus arts through dance, acting and music.  This half-day camp may be combined with Ballet A Day Camp to create a full day of fun!

In the Garden

Spark your curiosity. Students will explore the natural world through dance, visual art, and music. Explore the wonders of the garden in this engaging, hands-on camp. This half-day camp may be combined with TinkerTime to create a full day of fun!

Mad Hatters Tea Party

Fall down the rabbit hole. Students will turn their world upside down in this Mad Hatters Tea Party themed camp. They will sing, act, and create wacky art projects. This half-day camp may be combined with Main Street Beats (week of 6/12) or with Marvelous Superheroes (week of 7/24) to create a full day of fun!

Main Street Beats 

Explore the rhythm. Students will learn about 'the beat of the song' as they drum, clap, pound and dance. In this fun and lively camp, students will create their own instruments, play buckets as drums and explore the beat in dance class. This half-day camp may be combined with Mad Hatters Tea Party (week of 6/12) or with Marvelous Superheroes (week of 7/10) to create a full day of fun!

Marvelous Superheroes

Attention Superheroes! Spend the week creating songs and stories around your favorite superhero! Students will also design their own superhero masks, capes and other props! This half-day camp may be combined with Main Street Beats (week of 7/10) or with Mad Hatters Tea Party (week of 7/24) for a full day of fun!

PLAYtime PLAYwrights

Create your own adventure! With the guidance of their Teaching Artist, students will brainstorm and write their very own original play. They will learn to use their body and voice to create a variety of characters. This half-day camp may be combined with Broadway Bound for a full day of fun!

TinkerTime

Where Art and Science collide! Students problem-solve through creative experiments that help them explore the relationship of art and science. Little inventors will thrive in this brand new camp. This half-day camp may be combined with In the Garder to create a full day of fun!
