Accessible Arts

Through the arts, children develop critical thinking skills, take risks in a safe environment,
and experience successes.  The challenge of creating something of value instills hope and self-confidence in children.


American Jazz Museum

Our drive is to build upon the great efforts of those who laid the groundwork in advancing the excellent musical traditions that were established decades ago in this very neighborhood.  This is where jazz lives.  At the American Jazz Museum, it's all about the music. 


Coterie Theatre

To provide professional classic and contemporary theatre which challenges audience and artist and to provide educational, dramatic outreach programs in the community. We seek to open lines of communication between races, sexes and generations by redefining children’s theatre to include families and diverse audiences.


Heart of America Shakespeare Festival

The mission of the Heart of America Shakespeare Festival is to make Shakespeare’s 
works accessible to a diverse audience through free professional theatre and educational programs. 


Kansas City Chamber Orchestra

From the beginning we have played the greatest music from the Baroque and Classical eras and
beyond, with outstanding soloists, great venues and incredible musicians.


Kansas City Friends of Alvin Ailey

The mission of Kansas City Friends of Alvin Ailey (KCFAA) is making dance accessible to all people by presenting the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and Ailey II, teaching young people critical life skills through dance, and modeling interracial and multi-cultural community partnerships.

Our mission at the Mesner Puppet Theater is to perform quality, humorous, honest, and entertaining productions of classic and contemporary stories that stir the imagination and creativity as well as educate children, families, and educators in the art of live puppetry.

The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art is dedicated to the enjoyment and understanding of the visual arts and the varied cultures they represent.
 


Theatre for Young America

Theatre for Young America's mission is to nurture the educational and emotional growth of young people through drama.  Theatre for Young America also seeks to:(1) to nourish the spirits, bodies and minds of young people and associated adults through drama amd (2) to make these rich benefits available to all socio-economic levels and all traditionally underserved populations.
